Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem organized World Soil Day – 2025 at Pubelli Village & Yellandu Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 05.12.2025. Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of World Soil Day. He highlighted various methods to improve soil organic carbon, including natural farming practices, crop residue management, cultivation of green manure crops, organic farming and the consequences of indiscriminate use of nitrogen fertilizers. Dr. N. Hema Sarat Chandra, SMS (Extension) explained the ongoing activities and services of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sri B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture), briefed the farmers about new technologies in horticultural crops. A diagnostic field visit was conducted in maize and cotton fields, where pink bollworm infestation was observed and suitable chemical control measures were recommended. In this programme, Dr. T. Bharath Programme Coordinator, Dr. N. Hema Sarat Chandra, SMS (Extension), Sri B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) and 60 farmers participated.
