World Environment Day-2025 was organized at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 05.06.2025. The programme started with welcoming of the Guest speaker, Associate Dean and Teaching staff on to the Dias by Dr. D. Kumara Swamy, Asst. Professor (AECO), Agricultural College, Adilabad. It was followed by a brief about Environment and reason behind organizing World Environment Day and significance of World Environment Day 2025 (under the slogan “Ending Global Plastic Pollution”). An extempore competition on sub-themes of world environment day was conducted before beginning of the speeches by the Associate Dean and the faculty the sub themes include bio-diversity, aforestration, reduce, reuse and recycle (3Rs), water scarcity, air pollution, ozone depletion, dangers of plastic use etc. Later, Dr. G. Anitha, Assoc. Professor (Ento.), spoke about the importance of environmental protection followed by Dr. B. Rajeswari, Professor (Pl. Path) discussed about the five important elements of the nature and the need for living with following principles of nature. Later, Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean, addressed the gathering by his adorable speech on environmental protection and different ways for protecting it. The address also highlighted the global warming, climate changing and negative effects on Agriculture and allied sectors apart from the need of climate resilient agricultural practices. It also focused on the need for environmental literacy, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Agriculture and Sustainable Livelihoods. This programme was attended by all Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Agricultural College, Adilabad along with all students of both years. The programme ended with vote of thanks presented by the D. Kumara Swamy, Asst. Professor (AECO).
