TRVK & ARS, Tornala conducted diagnostic field visits in Paddy, Cotton & Greengram at Duddeda (V), Kondapaka (M) & Mittapalli (V), Siddipet Urban (M) along with Agriculture department officials Smt. Swaroopa Rani, DAO, Siddipet, Sri.. Shivaramakrishna, AO, Kondapak, Ramya, AEO, Velikatta, Sushmitha, AEO, Kondapak, Pavan, AEO, Mittapalli, Mounika, AEO, Duddeda, Chaithanya, AEO, Kondapaka in K. Ravinder Rao, (Paddy) and K. Srinivas Rao (Cotton), P. Anjaiah (Greengram) farmer fields. Paddy crop at Tillering to booting stage and observed BLB. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP), TRVK, Tornala, Siddipet, Dr. A. Ramadevi and Smt. A. Saritha have explained in detail the symptoms of damage of BLB and recommended top avoid Nitrogen based fertilizer application at the onset of disease outbreak. Restrict the water flow infested fields to healthy fields to avoid spread of bacterial spores through irrigation water. Application of Potash fertilisers at the rate of 15 kg/acre to induce resistance to plants. Spraying of Copper oxychloride @ 3g + Agrimycin @ 0.4 g or Plantamycin @ 0.2 g per litre of water to control spread of the disease. Later, visited Cotton field at square formation to boll development stage and observed Para wilt. Suggested to apply 2% urea solution as a foliar spray to help stressed plants recovery and drench the soil near the root zone with a solution of COC@ 3g/lit. Later visited Greengram field at Pod initiation to pod development stage and observed Sucking pests. Suggested application Acephate- 1.5 g/lit or Imidachloprid – 0.25 g/lit. In this visit, 35 farmers were participated.
