TRVK, Siddipet organized Training programme cum awareness programme on production technology and value addition in millets at Boring Thanda (V), Akkannapet (M) on 14.11.2025. The programme was started with welcome address by District Agriculture Officer, Siddipet, Smt. Swaroopa Rani and encouraged the farmers for crop diversification with alternate crops in rabi season. Dr. Ch. Pallavi briefed about the Millets importance, value addition, suitable millets for cultivation during Rabi and their availability and gave important suggestions for cultivation of sorghum crop. Dr. G. Santhosh kumar, Scientist & Head, ARS, Tornala explained the pests and diseases in paddy (stem borer, leaf folder, false smut, BPH, gall midge), maize (FAW), pheromone traps, monkey menace as per questions raised by the farmers. Later, followed by the distribution of PYPS-2 sorghum seed to farmers under popularization of PYPS-2 trial. In this programme, Dr. R. Susheela, Principal Scientist, MRC, ARI, Hyderabad, Dr. Ch. Anusha, Scientist, MRC, Hyd, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Akkannapet, Smt. Tasleema Sulthana AEO-K. Srilatha and 50 no. of progressive farmers have attended.
