Training Programme on Best Management practices in Maize and Input Distribution to the ST farmers on 13.02.2026 under Tribal sub plan at Sriram Thanda village of Akkannapet mandal, Siddipet District organized by Maize Research Centre, ARI, Hyderabad in collaboration with TRVK, Siddipet. Dr.Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP), TRVK, Siddipet welcomed the dignitaries on the Dias. The Scientist, Dr. Dr. Dinasarapu Sravani, MRC, ARI, Hyd addressed the gathering and briefed the about the Rabi maize management practices. Later, Dr. Ch. Anusha, Scientist (Ento.) explained about Pest & Disease management in Maize specially FAW, Pink stemborer and Post flowering stalk rot. Later, maize seed of DHM-206 hybrid which is suitable for growing kharif and rabi seasons, and resistant to post flowering stalk rot, yellow colored flint corn and pre emergence Atrazine 50%WP @ 1kg/acre, and Mesotrione + Atrazine @ 1400ml/acre herbicide was distributed to 25 ST beneficiaries under TSP. Further, maize fields were visited by the scientists and farmers. In this programme, Smt. Tasleema Sulthana, MAO, Akkannapet, AEO, Smt. Srilatha, Sarpanch Banoth Venkatesh, Upa sarpanch Raju, Panchayath Secretary Sampath and 50 no. of farmers have attended.
