TRVK, Siddipet organized method demonstration on stem application in cotton field of Sri. Beeraiah & Sri. Rajaiah at Gudikandula & Mundrai villages, Siddipet (Dt) on 07.08.2025 and 08.08.2025 respectively. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Coordinator, TRVK, Siddipet explained to control sucking pests effectively through stem application which is an eco-friendly, cost effective technology, reduced the cost on number of sprays and labour usage in cotton crop. In this method, sucking pest incidence was controlled by the stem application of systemic insecticides of Monocrotophos 1:4 ratio at 20 days after sowing and Flonicamid with water in 1:20 ratio at 40 and 60 days after sowing. Within three days of application the population of sucking pests was reduced. Later, demonstrated the method of mixing of insecticide flonicamid + water at 1:20 ratio at 45 DAS of the crop for control of early stage sucking pests (hoppers, aphids). Awareness on Pink boll worm management in cotton and installation of pheromone traps in the farmers’ fields and explained the monitoring of the pest incidence in cotton. Around 25 farmers and 27 BJR Agricultural College, Siricilla have participated in the programme.
