TRVK, Siddipet conducted awareness programme on zerotillage sunflower in rice fallows on 02.12.2025 at Gudikandula village, Thoguta Mandal, Siddipet district. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP) explained about zero tillage cultivation of Sunflower after paddy without stubble burning and crop management practices and advantages of growing sunflower through zero tillage and with minimal usage of moisture from soil as well as under less irrigation facilities. She explained the production practices especially weed and nutrient management in zerotillage sunflower which are helpful to improve the yields right from sowing to harvesting and given suggestions to take up sunflower with 4-5 irrigations rather than maize with 8-9 irrigations. Agriculture Extension Officer, Mr. Devender has also suggested the other farmers to take the other crops like sunflower, frenchbean, pulses, maize, vegetables as part of crop diversification. A total of 20 farmers have participated in the programme.
