Telangana Rythu Vignan Kendra (TRVK), PJTAU, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, organized a "Kisan Mela and Farmer-Scientist Interaction Meeting cum Exhibition" on 23rd, December 2025. The event was conducted as part of a special project on Cotton under the Central Institute for Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR), Nagpur. The program was graced by Chief Guests Hon'ble MLA of Station Ghanpur constituency, Sri Kadiyam Srihari and District Collector and Magistrate of Jangaon District, Sri Rizwan Basha Shaik, IAS.Dr. D. Sreelatha, Principal Scientist and Coordinator of TRVK, welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the primary objectives of the Kisan Mela, emphasizing the need for technology adoption. Hon'ble MLA, Sri Kadiyam Srihari Emphasized that scientific research must move "from lab to land" to make farming profitable. He urged farmers to adopt crop rotation, maintain soil health, and use chemical fertilizers judiciously. District Collector, Sri Rizwan Basha Shaik Encouraged farmers to achieve economic stability by embracing modern technologies, specifically the High-Density Planting System (HDPS) in cotton and organic farming practices. Director of Extension, PJTAU Dr. M. Yakaadri Stated that the university's goal is to ensure research results reach farmers directly. He advised farmers to utilize extension services to modernize their agricultural practices. Dr. G. Veeranna, Principal Scientist (RARS, Warangal), educated farmers on HDPS Cotton, explaining how it enables higher yields in a shorter duration. Dr. P. Rajaiah, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Engineering), discussed modern farm machinery designed to overcome labor shortages. Officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, and Animal Husbandry departments detailed various government subsidies and the profitability of dairy and fruit orchards. In this program Progressive farmers, including Sri Kanchi Mallaiah, Mandadi Siddha Reddy, S. Somireddy, L. Srinivas, and Ramakrishna Reddy, shared their successful field experiences with HDPS cotton, motivating fellow farmers to adopt the system. The program saw participation from several key officials, including Sri P.V. Ramana Reddy (DAO, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri), Smt. M. Madhavi (DHSO, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri), Sri.B.Sridhar DHSO, Jangaon, Dr S.Muralidhar Rao District Veterinary Officer, Jangaon, Smt.Vasantha Suguna,ADA Station Ghanpur, Sri.A.Parashuram ADA, Palakurthy, Dr. N. Lingaiah (Principal Scientist, RARS Kumpasagar), Technical experts Dr.D.Veeranna, Scientist(Ento), Dr.V.Ramya Scientist (Path),RARS, Warangal, MAO and AEO's Jangaon and Bhuvanagiri districts,agricultural students of PJTAU,Young professionals of Cotton project and more than 470 farmers were participated.
