TRVK, YADADRI BHUVANAGIRI FIELD DAY ON HDPS COTTON PLANTED THROUGH PNEUMATIC PLANTER

Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra(TRVK),PJTAU, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District conducted a field day on high density planting system (HDPS)in cotton on 19th November 2025 at the field of farmer Sri.Jaipal in Devireddigudem village, Sansthan Narayanapuram Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District.The event was conducted as part of a special project by the Central Institute of Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR), Nagpur. At the out set Dr.D.Sreelatha, Principal scientist and Coordinator addressed gathering and briefed about the project details and incentives offered by Central Government @5000/- as a direct benefit to the farmer adopted HDPS Cotton during Kharif 2025-26. She also created awareness on cultivation practices of HDPS cotton particularly on selection of varities, spacing, fertilizers, weed and canopy management. Farmer Sri. Jaipal shared his positive experience with HDPS cotton, specifically mentioning the use of a pneumatic planter. He stated that this method resulted in a significant 40% reduction in labour costs. In this program Agriculture Officer Smt Pooja, AEO Smt.Swapnika, FPO chairman Pushpareddi, FPO secretary Meghareddy Young professionals Venu, Rupa, Rajesh, Bhanu Chander and progress farmers and more than 100 cotton farmers participated in the field day. Following the field visit to witness the performance of the HDPS cotton, the participating farmers expressed their enthusiasm and readiness to implement HDPS cultivation using pneumatic planters on their own fields.
