Brief Report on A Training Programme Conducted on Sustainable Agriculture Best Practices at Adopted Village, Narayanapuram, Agricultural College, Aswaraopet on 26th August 2025.

A training programme on Sustainable Agriculture Best Practices was held on 26th August 2025 at Narayanapuram under the guidance of Associate Dean Dr. J. Hemantha Kumar. It was conducted by NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Dr. Sravanthi and Dr. K. Ravi Kumar in coordination with State Agriculture Department officials, the adopted village committee and NSS volunteers. Mrs. D. Sravanthi, NSS Programme Officer, explained compost preparation, bio-fertilizer use, mulching, water-use efficiency and suitable intercrops in juvenile oil palm. Dr. K. Ravi Kumar elaborated on bio-control agents, IPM practices, and crop protection measures. Dr. P. Neelima highlighted emerging intercrops like areca nut, cocoa, flowers, and spices in aged oil palm for additional income. Dr. Ramprasad focused on soil testing, organic farming, and climate-smart practices, while Dr. Shireesha explained about on value addition, value chains, and linkage of FPO to cooperatives and markets. Dr. Srijan shared information on newly released varieties, and farmers actively participated by discussing production constraints. The programme witnessed active participation from farmers, including women and rural youth, expressed satisfaction on sustainable practices and low-cost technologies for better yields. They appreciated the videos, field visits, and interactive sessions.
