Distribution-cum-training programme on the promotion of oilseeds (Sunflower – KBSH-90) through the Cluster Front Line by KVK, Bhadradri Kothagudem on 14.11.2025.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem organized a distribution-cum-training programme on the promotion of oilseeds (Sunflower – KBSH-90) through the Cluster Front Line Demonstration at Bodu Rythu Vedika, Tekulapally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 14.11.2025. In this programme, Sri Koram Kanakaiah, Honourable MLA, Yellandu Constituency, participated and briefed farmers about the importance of crop diversification and encouraged them to make effective use of Krishi Vigyan Kendra services. Sri V. Baburao, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), explained the disadvantages of the maize–maize cropping system and its detrimental effects on soil health and the environment. Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator, explained sunflower crop management practices, the importance of incorporating cotton stalks into the soil, and the benefits of adopting the cotton/maize–greengram cropping system.
Later, the following inputs were distributed:
1.Sunflower hybrid KBSH-90 to 36 farmers under CFLD on oilseeds
2.Greengram variety MGG-385 to 5 farmers under FLD on late-sown greengram and FLD on promotion of greengram MGG-385
3.Conducted Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas programme
Dignitaries who participated in the event included:

Surender Rao, PACS Chairman; Sri Lalchand, ADA; Scientists Dr. N. Hema Sarat Chandra (Extension), Sri B. Shiva (Horticulture); PACS Director; MRO; HO; AOs; AEOs; other departmental officials; and 106 farmers. Finally, along with the District Agriculture Officer, field visits were conducted and suitable chemical recommendations were provided for pest and disease infestations observed in the fields.
