Training programme on ‘Agroforestry systems and Backyard Poultry’ by AICRP on Agroforestry, PJTAU at Yavapur village,Yadadri on 22.10.2025

A training programme on ‘Agroforestry Systems and Backyard Poultry’ was organized by AICRP on Agroforestry, PJTAU, Hyderabad in co-ordination with TRVK (Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri at Yavapur village, Bommalaramaram mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on 22-10-2025 under Tribal Sub Plan (Agroforestry) funded by ICAR-Central Agroforestry Research Institute (CAFRI), Jhansi, U.P. The programme was attended by Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head and Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, Scientist (SSAC) from AICRP on Agroforestry, Dr. D. Sreelatha, Co-ordinator and Dr. B. Anil Kumar, Scientist (Ento.) from TRVK, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and 21 farmers of Yavapur village. At the outset, Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi welcomed all the dignitaries and farmers for the training programme and also narrated it’s objectives of TSP in Agroforestry. Dr. Ramanjaneyulu explained about profitability of different Agroforestry tree species and also precautions to be taken while raising back yard poultry. Dr. Sreelatha apprised of the benefits under TSP and asked the beneficiary farmers to utilize the provisions for improving their livelihood. Dr. Anil Kumar cautioned about tree protection measures to be taken while raising tree saplings. Mr. Raju Naik, contact TSP beneficiary farmer thanked all the scientists for educating the beneficiary farmers. At the end, 542 poultry birds (Rajasri) of 5 weeks old (chicks) were distributed to 15 beneficiary farmers of Yavapur village under TSP.
