A five-day training programme on “Mahua-Based Value Added Products and Marketing for SC and ST Communities” conducted from 09th March to 13th March 2026 PGRC, College of Community Science, PJTAU, R.nagar

A five-day training programme on “Mahua-Based Value Added Products and Marketing for SC and ST Communities” was successfully conducted from 09th March to 13th March 2026 PGRC, College of Community Science, PJTAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, with the objective of improving livelihood opportunities and entrepreneurial skills among rural communities of SC and ST communities through value addition of mahua. The programme aimed to create awareness about the nutritional importance, sustainable utilization, processing techniques and marketing potential of mahua-based products. The programme was sponsored by TGCOST. A total of 20 participants attended the training programme, out of which 15 were females and 5 were males. The majority of the participants belonged to Scheduled Castes (19 participants) while 1 participant belonged to the Scheduled Tribe community. The participants represented different districts, including Vikarabad (11 participants), Rangareddy (6 participants) and Wanaparthy (3 participants). The age of the participants ranged from 19 to 48 years, so there was observed active participation from both young and middle-aged individuals interested in skill development and income generation activities. The training programme consisted of 7 modules and 19 sessions and covered theoretical knowledge, demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions related to mahua processing and product development.
