SCIENTIST FARM WOMEN INTERACTION ON VISION 2047 ON 14.11.2025 AT SHAMSHABAD (M) BY AICRP ON WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE.

Vision 2047" refers to the Indian government's long-term vision initiative to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 marking the 100th anniversary of our independence. This vision is built on four pillars to include youth, the poor, farm women and farmers with focus on economic self-reliance, technological advancement, infrastructure development and social empowerment. As part of it, AICRP on Women in Agriculture have organised Scientist – Farm women interactive session at Malkarm (V), Shamshabad (M) on 14.11.2025. The farm women were sensitized on need for incorporating millets in diet as they nutrient dense and help in proving required micro nutrients. Seasonal fruits like guava, papaya, watermelon, seema chintakaya or monkey thorn, Ber or Indian plum and locally available vegetables like chiriyaku, pongantikura, punitkoora, spiny gourd, pointed gourd are to be included in diets as they help in not only providing required nutrients but are low cost. There is need to develop nutri-garden around the homes or on farm bunds to cultivate a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs for steady supply of nutritious food free of pesticides. The primary purpose of a nutri-garden is to improve household consumption of fruits and vegetables, increase access to healthy food and sometimes provide a source of extra income contributing to nutrition security. The participants were created awareness on low-cost farm devices that help in reducing drudgery like cotton harvest bag, bhindi cutter and sampling transplanter for tomato, chilli, brinjal, etc. in red soils as well as the need for physical activity among young children was discussed. Also, height and weight of preschoolers and farm women were taken to assess the prevalence of malnutrition.
