RARS Palem Undertakes Breeder Seed Production of Groundnut Variety TCGS-1694 (Vishishta) under NMEO–OS Seed Hub Programme on 31-12-2025

AICRP–Groundnut, Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Palem, has taken up breeder seed production of groundnut variety TCGS-1694 (Vishishta) during Rabi 2025–26 under the prestigious National Mission on Edible Oils – Oilseeds (NMEO–OS) Seed Hub Programme of the Government of India. ICAR has accorded approval for undertaking this programme in 48 acres of farmers’ fields located across Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts of Telangana, with a production target of 500 quintals. Dr. M. Sreedhar, Principal Scientist (Oilseeds), along with the Groundnut Seed Hub staff, visited the seed production fields at Bandapalli (Nagarkurnool), Doduguntapally (Wanaparthy) and Chowdarpalli (Ranga Reddy) on 31.12.2025 and provided necessary technical guidance to farmers for maintaining breeder seed quality standards. The crop is reported to be progressing well and is expected to meet the targeted seed production.
