Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Programme by RAWEP Students-TRVK Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.

As part of the Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP), final-year B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students from the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar successfully conducted the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) activities across nine villages in the district. (PJTAU),After three years of intensive classroom learning, 46 female students have transitioned to the fields to gain practical experience. Under the guidance of the Telangana Rythu Vignan Kendra(TRVK), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. The students have been divided into nine teams and stationed in the following villages: Bommaipally (6 students). Tajpur (6 students), Anajipuram (4 students), Wadaigudem (5 students), Chanduputla (5 students), Muttireddygudem (5 students), Bollepally (5 students), Tekula Somaram (5 students), Rajapet(5 students). Over a period of five months, these students will receive hands-on training by working with farmers in activities namely ploughing of the land, sowing seeds, and transplanting to the final harvesting process in paddy and other crops like cotton, maize, orchards etc,. From January 3rd to January 12th, the students actively engaged with local farming communities to conduct resource mapping and identify agricultural challenges. By creating visual maps and charts, they documented soil types, crop patterns, and irrigation facilities while proposing scientific solutions to local problems. This initial phase sets the foundation for their five-month hands-on training, during which they will work alongside farmers through every stage of the agricultural cycle, from land preparation and sowing to the final harvest.
