Plantation Drive (Medicinal Tree Block) at Botanical Garden, PJTAU on 11.10.2025.

AICRP on Agroforestry, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University with the financial support from the Arcesium India Private Limited, Madhapur involving Nirmaan organization, NGO, Hyderabad conducted a plantation drive for the establishment of Medicinal tree block with 22 medicinal tree species at Botanical Garden, PJTAU campus on 11.10.2025. As part of this programme, Dr. Aldas Janaiah, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PJTAU attended as a chief guest and emphasized that this block will serve as an excellent site for preserving the biodiversity, enhancing the awareness, educating the visiting students, scholars, teachers, scientists, environmental lovers and also for furthering research on silvi-medicinal system under agroforestry. He thanked the Arcesium and NIRMAAN for their commitment and support for the cause of environment. Dr. G. E. Ch. Vidya Sagar, Registrar, PJTAU apprised in one quote as “Vruksho Rakshitha Rakshithaha.” Further, Arcesium Ms. Manideepa Chakravarthy, MD., Ms. Sujitha, Head HR and Mr. Mayur, NIRMAAN NGO expressed that, their financial contribution towards establishment of this block for future research is highly appreciable under environment sustainability and climate protection through CSR funds. As part of this programme, 50 employees including university officers, teaching and non-teaching staff, 30 students from PJTAU, 180 volunteers and official representatives from Arcesium and also NIRMAAN NGO altogether 300 people actively involved in planting 1000 saplings in nearly 10 acres area. Dr. VG Reddy, DSA. Dr, Eshwari, PG Dean, Dr. KV. Ramana Rao, Dean Agri, Eng, Dr. M. Malla Reddy, COE, Dr. AV Ramanjaneyulu, Principal Scientist (Agro.) & Head, Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, Scientist (SSAC) from Agroforestry etc., were important among the participants in this auspicious event.
