Organized ‘Vana mahotsavam - Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme under Green Club activity at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 26.07.2025

Agricultural College, Adilabad organized “Vana Mahotsavam - Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” programme under Green club activity on 26.07.2025 by involving all the Teaching, Non Teaching and supporting staff of College. The dignitaries include Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean; Dr. N. Ram Gopal Verma, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Adilabad; Dr. K. Rajashekar, Sr. Scientist (Ento.) & Head Agricultural Research Station Adilabad; Dr. G. Manjulatha, Professor (Agro.) & Green Club in-charge; Dr. Y. Praveen Kumar, Professor (SSAC); Dr. Kumar Swamy, Asst. Professor (AECO); Dr. M. Sunil Kumar, Asst. Professor (Horti.); Sri. G. Anil Kumar, Asst. Professor (GPBR); Dr. B. Jayachandra Reddy, Teaching Associate (SSAC); Sri. A. Hareesh, Superintendent and all 1st and 3rd year B.Sc (Hons) Ag. Students. This event commenced by welcoming all the dignitaries and staff followed by prayer song by students. The Professor (Agro) & Green Club in-charge Dr. G. Manjulatha addressed the gathering and explained the primary objectives of green club as to raise environment awareness, promote sustainable practices and stimulate sense of responsibility towards the environment. The students have actively participated and dedicated a song, performed a skit and expressed their views on the importance of ‘Vana Mahotsavam’, which reflected a greater vision to protect our mother earth. Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean addressed the students on critical role of trees in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change and reiterated that every student has to plant two trees and protect it till they leave the college so that in future that will become a good memory in students life.Later Dr. N. Ram Gopal Verma, Programme Coordinator, KVK Adilabad in his speech mentioned that protecting and preserving plants is crucial for the healthy environment providing essential resources and oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide for well being of life on planet. Dr. K. Rajasekhar, Sr. Scientist (Ento.) & Head, ARS, Adilabad in his speech stated that planting trees is nature’s way of keeping the air clean and the earth cool and combats the heat. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks.
