Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Rajendranagar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centre for Forest and Natural Resource Management Studies (CEFNARM), Dulapally on 07-08-2023, for the exchange of subject expertise in forestry, agroforestry, biodiversity etc., collaborative research projects on carbon sequestration, C trading and agroforestry technologies etc. This inturn helps in suggesting sustainable and profitable agroforestry models on farmlands. The MOU was signed by Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Registrar, PJTSAU and Dr. S. J. Asha, Secretary, CEFNARM and Director, TSFA, Hyderabad on 07-08-23 in the presence of university officers of PJTSAU, staff of AICRP on Agroforestry and CEFNARM. The MoU shall be valid for a period of 8 years. MOU facilitates joint organization of workshops, seminars, conferences, capacity building programmes, exposure visits etc., for the benefit of all stakeholders. Earlier, Dr. B. Jamuna Rani, Director (International Programmes), PJTSAU gave a brief introduction about importance of MoU between CEFNARM and PJTSAU in agroforestry and agribiodiversity. Dr A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head, Agroforestry has appraised of the group of officers about the need for the MoU and collaborative areas for research and extension between PJTSAU and CEFNARM and also establishment of Consortium of Industrial Agroforestry for the benefit of varoius stakeholders involved. The MOU will further facilitate development of information corner, arboretum and also agribiodiversity park in PJTSAU. It also helps in extending guidance to PG students in research on agroforestry and biodiversity conservation. The meeting was attended by Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research, Dr. B. Jamuna Rani, Director (International Programmes), Dr. G. Padmaja, Director (Polytechnics), Dr.V.Vijaya Lakshmi (Dean of community science), Dr. N.P. Ravi kumar (University librarian), Sri.
