International year of millets -2023 Activities for the Month of January from College of Community science and Millet Processing & Incubation Centre

In the occasion of CAFT inaugural session millet calendar was unveiled by Dr. S. Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, Dr. D. Ratna Kumari Dean of Community Science. Calendar was designed by MSc (FN) and ELP students of College of Community Science, which includes nutritional importance of millets and value added products form millets. Dr. T. Supraja, Professor and HoD, Dr. B. Anila Kumari, Assistant Professor and Officer incharege,, Mrs. E. Jyoshna, Assistant Professor, Dr. Janaki Shrinath, Assistant Professor, Dr. G. Priya Sugndini and PG students participated in the programme. Millet processing and incubation centre of PJTSAU organised one day awareness programme to the 220 students and 20 teachers form Gaudium School, Velimela, kollur part of the international Year of millets 2023. The programme was coordinated by Dr. B. Anila Kumari, Officer Incharge and Mrs. E. Jyoshna, Assistant Professor. Students were completely engaged with the millet related activities like exploring the students towards various value added products prepared from millets, need and importance of each millets and their significance was explained. Students were also exposed towards fun games as identifying millets being blindfolded. Live demonstration on primary processing and biscuit preparation was given by using different highend equipment. Dr. M. Nagesh P.I Millets, Mrs. T. Pradeepa, Dr. T. Sucharita, Dr. T. Supraja and PG, ELP Students participated in the programme.
