The cotton cultivation in the Nagarkurnool district during Kharif, 2025 is 2, 65, 965 acres. The crop is at boll formation stage and the rainfall received during the August month is 492.3 mm with 19 rainy days. Due to which farmers have encountered huge damage in cotton fields. Keeping this in view KVK, Palem has organized a training programme on “Integrated Disease Management in Cotton” at Rythu Vedhika, Nandi Waddeman (V), Bijinepally (M) on 03.09.2025. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection) highlighted the major diseases of cotton, current crop condition and what are all the diseases (TSV, Boll rot) likely to get near future in cotton, disease symptoms and nature of damage in detail. And briefed that installation of white and blue sticky traps for monitoring and mass trapping of thrips, spraying with Azadiractin 1500 PPM when pest is at below ETL, ETL based spraying with Fipronil+Imidacloprid @ 50g/acre or Sulfaxaflor @ 240 ml/ acre or Tolfenopyrad@ 200 ml/acre to control thrips its associated Tobacco Streak Viral Disease. Prophylactic spraying of Copperoxychloride @ 600 g/acre, + Azoxystrobin+difenconazole@ 200 ml/acre and Plantamycin@ 40 g/acre or Agrimycin @ 80g/acre for the management of boll rot. Further suggested to spray recommended Label claim green insecticides/Fungicides. In this Training Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Palem and Sri. Madhu, AEO, Waddeman and 29 farmers a Total of 31 members were participated.
