Rythu Nestham Video Conference was organized by the Electronic Wing, PJSAU of progressive organic farm woman Smt. Lavanya Ramana Reddy from Karuvanga (V), Telkapally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) which is a KVK, Palem’s operational area. Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, briefed the participants about Smt. Lavanya Ramana Reddy’s farming activities, her passion for organic farming, and how KVK, Palem is supporting her in demonstrating university technologies to achieve better yields. Smt. Lavanya Ramana Reddy, who practices organic farming in multiple crops such as Cotton, Paddy, Chilli, Redgram, Maize, and intercrops including spices like Dhania, Saunf, and Ajwain for 22 years shared her farming experiences with the farming community of Telangana through the live video conference. She emphasized preparing her own kashayas (such as Jeevamrutham, Ghana jeevamrutham, Beejamrutham) for foliar application, along with FYM and other biological control agents for soil application. The cotton and chilli crops on her farm were observed to be healthy, pest-free, and weed-free, with improved soil fertility. Additionally, a diagnostic field visit was conducted in nearby fields, where the cotton crop was at the boll formation stage. Observations revealed sucking pest complex (thrips above ETL) and Tobacco Streak Virus disease (10–15%). Farmers were advised to spray Sulfaxaflor @ 240 ml/acre or Flonicamid @ 80 g/acre for effective management. In this programme Dr. P. Sreedevi, PC, Dr. O. Shaila SMS (PP), Dr. Sudha Rani, Senior Scientist (Agronomy), Electronic Wing, PJTAU and their team, Smt. Narmada, AO, Telkapally cluster, AEO’s, local press people and 3 farmers a total of 12 members were participated.
