KVK, Palem organized Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) & Mission for Aatmanirbharatha in Pulses Schemes Launch Live webcast at KVK, Palem on 11.10.2025.

KVK, Palem in collaboration with Department of Agriculture organized “Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) & Mission for Aatmanirbharatha in Pulses Schemes Launch - Live webcast and Farmer Scientist Interaction” at Auditorium, RARS, Palem, Bijinepally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) on 11.10.2025. Sri. B. Santhosh, District Collector, Nagarkurnool, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. He stated that the launch of PM-DDKY and Mission for Aatmanirbharatha in Pulses provides a great opportunity for small and marginal farmers to enhance agricultural productivity and increase their income. He further mentioned that the programme will be implemented for the next five years, ensuring long-term benefits for the farming community. Sri. N. Yashwanth Rao, District Agriculture Officer, Nagarkurnool, highlighted the major objectives and significance of the PM-DDKY programme, which include promoting crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices, supporting allied sectors such as dairy, fisheries, and poultry, and encouraging women and youth participation in agriculture and allied activities. He also emphasized the importance of post-harvest management, value addition, and reduction of post-harvest losses. Sri. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Chairman, BCCB, emphasized the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in foodgrains, pulses, and oilseeds, thereby reducing dependency on imports. Sri,Venkateswarlu, DHO, Dr. Rajini, DFO, Sri. Oblesh, DRDO official, Sri. Chandrashekhar, LDM, and Sri. Satyanarayana, Deputy Director of Dairy Development, shared their insights from their respective departments and encouraged farmers to adopt improved practices in agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and animal husbandry. The technical session was led by Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Palem, Dr. M. Shankar, Scientist (Entomology), Dr. M.M. Kada Siddappa, Scientist (Agronomy), RARS, Palem, and Sri Jagan and Sri Laxman, Horticulture Officers. The session covered various themes including best management practices in Rabi crops, horticultural crops, natural farming, oil palm production and subsidies, and IPDM practices. The programme concluded with a farmer–scientist interaction, during which the current crop conditions were reviewed and farmers’ queries were addressed by the experts. Sri. B.
