KVK, Palem conducted OFT on “Assessment of Protein rich biscuits among children with malnutrition below 5 years” at Palem Anganwadi School on 29.08.2025.

KVK, Palem initiated an On-Farm Trial (OFT) on “Assessment of Protein-Rich Biscuits among Malnourished Children Below 5 Years”. Five malnourished children were selected based on height, weight, and mid-arm circumference. Protein-rich biscuits, procured from PGRC, PJTSAU, were distributed to them. Each child requires 6 g of protein per day. Since each biscuit contains 1.4 g of protein, instructions were given to consume 5–6 biscuits daily. Pre-assessment anthropometric measurements were recorded for all selected children. In this programme Dr. P. Sreedevi, PC, Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Palem and Smt. Vijaya Laxmi, Anganwadi Teacher and team, 14 kids and 3 mothers a Total of 21 members were participated.
