KVK, Palem Implemented FLD on” Management of sucking pests complex in cotton using drones” in farmer’s field at Polepally village on 23.08.2025.

As part of the technical programme, KVK Palem implemented a Frontline Demonstration (FLD) on “Management of sucking pest complex in cotton using drone technology” at farmers’ fields at Polepally (V), Bijinepally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) on 23.08.2025. Although drone spraying is gaining popularity in various crops, there is still a need to create awareness among farmers. To address this, the technology was demonstrated in the field. As per PJTAU SOP (2022) for cotton crop, spraying was carried out using Flonicamid @ 80 g/acre + Azadirachtin 1500 PPM @ 1000 ml/acre. The demonstration utilized an 11litre capacity drone (Thanes Pvt. Ltd.), operated at 1 meter above the crop canopy, under calm weather conditions. Pest load observations were recorded before spraying for impact assessment. Further, distributed the inputs to the beneficiaries. In this demonstration Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant protection), Dr. P. Sreedevi (PC), V. Pushpalatha, YP I, Mr. Narsimha and Mani, Skilled Drone operators and 4 farmers aTotal of 9 memebers were participated.
