KVK, Palem conducted FLD on” Management of sucking pests complex in cotton using drones ” at Yathmathapur village on 02.09.2025.

As part of the technical programme, KVK Palem conducted a Frontline Demonstration (FLD) on “Drone-based Management of Sucking Pest Complex in Cotton” at the cotton fields of Sri. Sevayya and Smt. Laxmi of Yathmathapur (V), Thadur (M), Nagarkurnool (D) on 02.09.2025. While drone spraying is becoming increasingly popular across various crops, farmers still require greater awareness about its benefits. To address this gap, a field demonstration was conducted. As per PJTAU’s SOP (2022) for cotton, the spraying was performed using Flonicamid @ 80 g/acre combined with Azadirachtin 1500 PPM @ 1000 ml/acre. The demonstration was carried out using an 11-litre capacity drone (Aeroplus Pvt. Ltd.), operated at a height of 1 meter above the crop canopy, ensuring application under calm weather conditions. Sucking pests pre spray observations were recorded for impact assessment. In this Demonstration Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), V. Pushpalatha, YP I, Mr. Basheer and Hanmanth, Skilled Drone operators and 6 farmers a Total of 10 members were participated.
