KVK, Palem conducted Front Line Demonstration(FLD) on “Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPDM) in Paddy” at Shainpally, Polepally, Gangaram villages of Bijinepally Mandal on 29.08.2025.

Paddy is the major crop in Nagarkurnool district, covering 1,70,550 acres during the Vanakalam season. In the past three years, heavy rains have resulted in severe outbreaks of major pests and diseases, causing significant crop losses. To address this, KVK, Palem initiated Front-Line Demonstrations (FLDs) on Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPDM) in Paddy across five farmers’ fields. At the tillering stage, the SMS (Plant Protection) distributed critical inputs to five beneficiaries, including Pheromone Traps – 4 Nos, Yellow Stem Borer Lures – 12 Nos., Dinotefuran 20 SG – 100 g, Cartap Hydrochloride 50 SP – 500 g, Plantamycin – 40 g. Additionally, emphasis was placed on IPDM practices such as Installation of pheromone traps, Use of botanicals (Azadirachtin 1500 ppm), Application of biological control agents (Trichogramma cards), ETL-based spraying of recommended insecticides, Need-based application of fungicides.
