KVK, Palem conducted a Field Visit to HDPS/CS cotton fields under special project at Allipur, Nandi Waddeman & Polepally villages on 10.07.2025.

KVK, Palem conducted the HDPS/CS cotton fields visit under special project in seven farmer’s fields of Allipur, Nandi Waddeman & Polepally villages, Bijinepally (M), Nagrakurnool (D) on 10.07.2025. The farmers have taken up sowing during II FN of May to I FN of June using RCH 929, Armitha, CCH 369 hybrids. The crop is at vegetative to square formation stage. Currently, weeding operations are going on in most of the field. Observed leaf hoppers population (2-3 LH/Nymphs/plt – below ETL). Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem interacted with the farmers regarding their opinion towards the technology and encouraged them to adopt best management practices during the crop season. Further, interacted with the women farmers regarding SHG’s in the village, status of vegetables cultivation and consumption status. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection) emphasized on management of sucking pest complex during the vegetative stage by installing the Blue, white and yellow sticky traps and application of Botanicals when the pest load is at below ETL. Further, discussed about the crop canopy management practices to achieve higher yields. In this visit Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), V. Pushpalatha, B. Harish YP I, KVK, Palem and 8 men & 6 women farmers (Total participants 18) were participated.
