20th Parthenium Awareness Week was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palem from 16 to 22 August, 2025

On 18th August, in the Instructional Farm of KVK, Palem, we have organized the Awareness program, in order to create awareness among the farm laborers and staff, a talk about the harmful effects of Parthenium and control methods. Invading nature and spread in the country, its enormous capability of spreading, health issues and remedies, different available and possible control methods of manual, mechanical, chemical and biological control methods. Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem and the Field staff had participated in mechanical and manual removal of Parthenium hysterophorus in the farm. On 20th August, Parthenium Awareness Campaign program was organized to Agricultural Polytechnic Students. Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem highlighted the major moto of conducting the programme every year on August 16-22nd as Parthenium Awareness Week”. A was displayed and emphasized to students about the problem of Parthenium, its invading nature and spread in the country, its enormous capability of spreading, health issues and remedies, different control methods of manual, mechanical, chemical and biological control methods, integrated Parthenium Management. Some of the innovative students prepare & given slogans on parthenium awareness programme. in this programme Dr. P. Sreedevi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem, Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. B. Rajashekar, SMS(Extension), Staff and 49 students were participated.
