Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem participated in the Farmer’s Day-cum-Exhibition organized by IIRR, R.nagar on 07.11.2025

Farmers from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem participated in the Farmer’s Day-cum-Exhibition organized by the Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on 07.11.2025. During the event, the farmers observed thousands of rice varieties including salinity-tolerant and heat-tolerant types. Notably, Sri Gottipati Venkateshwara Rao, a farmer from Bhadradri Kothagudem district, received the Best Farmer Award in recognition of his exemplary farming practices. In the afternoon session, the farmers attended a training-cum-exposure visit on Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) sponsored by NABARD. The team visited the All India Coordinated Research Project on Integrated Farming Systems (AICRP-IFS), PJTAU, where they observed various components such as dairy, poultry, sheep rearing, vermicompost production, azolla cultivation, and fodder units. The respective scientists provided detailed explanations of each enterprise. In this programme, Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator, and B. Shiva, Scientist (Horticulture) from KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem accompanied 30 farmers.
