Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhadradri Kothagudem organized an awareness programme on Crop Protection Measures against Monkey and Wild Boar Menace in collaboration with the All India Coordinated Research Project on Vertebrate Pest Management (AICRP-VPM), Hyderabad on 30.01.2026. The programme was conducted at Karivari Gudem Village, Julurupadu Mandal and Mylavaram Village, Laxmidevipally Mandals of Bhadradri Kothagudem District. During the programme, Dr. P. Rajinikanth, Principal Scientist (Entomology), AICRP-VPM, explained various scientific and practical methods for protecting crops from wild animals, including the use of solar fencing, agri cannon, and other deterrent equipment to mitigate monkey and wild boar damage. Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem briefed the participants on various KVK activities related to livelihood improvement and employment generation programmes for farmers with special emphasis on tribal farming communities. As part of the programme, solar fencing units, three battery-operated sprayers, and agri cannon equipment were distributed to tribal farmers to support effective crop protection. The programme witnessed active participation of Dr. P. Rajinikanth, Principal Scientist (Entomology), Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator, Dr. Srinivas Reddy, Scientist (Entomology), Dr. N. Hema Sarat Chandra, SMS (Extension), RAWEP students, and 60 farmers from the selected villages.
