KVK, Bellampalli – Kisan Mela on HDPS Cotton Technology on 23.03.2026

Kisan Mela on HDPS Cotton technology under NFSM- Special Project on ICAR - CICR entitled “Targeting technologies to agro ecological zones large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton productivity” for the year 2025-26 was conducted at KVK, Bellampalli (Mancherial) on 24.03.2026. Details of the Activity: A Kisan Mela was successfully organized at KVK Bellampalli, Mancherial district, with participation of around 575 farmers. Dr. M. Yakadri, Director of Extension, PJTAU, attended as Chief Guest, along with Dr. Harish Kumar Sharma (ADR), Dr. Prasuna (PC, KVK), Smt. Surekha (DAO), Sri Raja Narender (A.D.A.), Sri Prem Kumar (A.O.) and scientists Ram Gopal Varma, Sreedhar Chouhan, Veeranna and Dr. B. Srinivas. Private companies, NGOs, Bharat Agri Consultancy, RAWE students and progressive farmers also participated. Farmers were guided on High-Density Planting System (HDPS) technology in cotton cultivation and explained the benefits of maintaining a higher plant population per acre and also emphasized the importance of incorporating cotton stalks into the soil using cotton shredders to improve soil health and provided technical guidance to farmers for the effective adoption of High Density Planting System (HDPS) cotton technology. Later, Farmers visited stalls interacted with experts and clarified their queries. The program concluded with felicitation of farmers and dignitaries making the event informative and beneficial.
