BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla, Celebrated a grand Freshers’ Day on 09.01.2026 to warmly welcome the newly admitted students. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. L. Raja, OISA, who warmly welcomed the freshers into the BJR Agricultural College family. In his speech, he motivated the new students to be disciplined, focused, and committed to their academic goals. Following this, Dr. K. B. Sunitha Devi, Associate Dean, addressed the gathering. She highlighted the achievements of the college and its staff in academics, research, and extension activities. She expressed pride in the dedicated faculty and assured the freshers of continuous guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their academic journey. The Chief Guest, Dr. Ch. Venugopala Reddy, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered an inspiring address to the students. He emphasized that students must excel not only in academics but also in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. He strongly encouraged the freshers to develop leadership qualities, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills, stating that students should aim to become job providers rather than job seekers in the future. The Chief Guest, Dr. Ch. Venu Gopala Reddy, inaugurated JRF cell where he interacted with final-year students and emphasized on the recent incentives implemented by the University for the Overall first-rank achieved students in their respective subjects in JRF exams. He stressed the role of young researchers in strengthening the agriculture research system and encouraged the students to actively utilize the facilities and academic support provided by the JRF cell. He suggested the JRF cell in-charges to prepare a schedule on syllabus coverage, availability of study material, information on exam patterns, mentorship program and planned training sessions such as mock tests, expert lectures and interaction with successful JRF qualifiers. He also inaugurated Placement Cell and emphasized the importance of a dedicated placement cell in guiding students towards suitable career paths and preparing them to meet industry requirements. The role of Placement Cell in providing career counseling, training programs, internships, and campus recruitment support was highlighted. Digital library was also inaugurated and he highlighted the importance of digital resources in modern education and the role of digital library in supporting teaching, learning and research activities. He explained the significance of digital library in facilitating quick access to e-books, e-journals, databases and online learning platforms. In addition to these a new Stationery and Snacks shop was also inaugurated in the campus and he stressed the need for maintaining cleanliness, food safety standards and quality service. He interacted with final year AELP students and said that they are lucky enough to have all these facilities in the college under the leadership of Dr. K.B. Suneetha Devi, Associate Dean, BJR Agricultural College and suggested to make complete use of all these facilities in the development of their career as well as university. The programme also included cultural performances by Junior and senior students, which added color and joy to the celebration. The event concluded with words of encouragement from the faculty members and interactive sessions among students. Overall, the Freshers’ Day celebration at BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla, was a memorable and meaningful occasion that inspired the freshers to begin their academic life with confidence, determination, and enthusiasm.
