The NSS Unit of BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla observed Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas to honour the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of India’s tribal freedom fighters. The programme began with an introductory address by NSS Programme Officer Dr. G. Priyadarshini, who highlighted the significance of the day and spoke about the courage and leadership of two iconic tribal leaders—Komaram Bheem and Birsa Munda. She emphasized their unwavering fight against oppression and their role in safeguarding tribal rights, identity and culture. The Associate Dean, Dr. K. B. Suneetha Devi then addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of commemorating Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, noting that such events inspire students to learn about the nation’s tribal heritage and honour the legacy of leaders who played a crucial role in India’s freedom struggle. Following the formal addresses, the Associate Dean, faculty members, NSS volunteers and students offered floral tributes to Birsa Munda and Komaram Bheem, remembering their heroic contributions and reaffirming the values of courage, justice and social harmony.
