The Regional Agricultural Research Station, AICRP on Kharif Pulses (Pigeonpea), Warangal, conducted a field day on full package technology (FPT) as part of its front-line demonstration technical programme during 2025-26 at Dharmaram village, Geesugonda mandal, Warangal District, on January 6, 2026. Dr. A. Venkat Reddy, Principal Scientist (Entomology) & Head, AICRP on Kharif Pulses, RARS, Warangal, chaired the programme and addressed the farmers about the importance of cultivation of pigeonpea crop, pest management in redgram, Technologies for rabi cultivation of pigeonpea, Mechanization, and sensitized them about integrated pest management of Maruca vitrata and Helicoverpa armigera in pigeonpea. He urged the farmers to increase the area under pulses, enhance pulse production and productivity through the Pulses Mission “Aathmanirbharta” in the upcoming year, 2026. Later, Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) & Officer in-charge, spoke on important of FLD programme, better management practices for pigeonpea cultivation for better yields and enhancing soil health, market price, and market facilities for procuring the seed at a suitable price, as well as information on harvesting the crop and the importance of mechanization in pigeonpea. Later, Dr. G. Seshu, Scientist (Plant Breeding), briefed the farmers on the use of drone in redgram crops and clarified their queries on drone technology. Dr. G. Padmaja, Scientist (Plant Pathology), explained about better management practices for controlling dry root rot and Sterility mosaic diseases in Redgram, as well as prophylactic measures for sterility mosaic viral disease. Later, the FLD farmers, Sri Godasi Lingamurthy, Sri Bollem Vidyasagar, and Sri Madineni Showraiah, shared their experiences with fellow farmers on the Field Day about the Front-Line Demonstration taken up in their fields, specifically the FLD-Pigeonpea FPT with variety (WRGE-121 & WRGE-97). The programme was followed by a field visit, during which all queries were clarified, and farmers expressed satisfaction with the crop performance and their willingness to adopt the technologies on a large scale. In this programme, about 40 farmers from Dharmaram, Vanchanagiri, Geesugonda and Ladella mandals of Warangal district and RAWEP students of B.Sc. (Agriculture) participated in the meeting.
