Agriculture Exposure Visit by students of Gouthami High School, Achampet to RARS, Palem on 08.01.2026

As a part of Agriculture Exposure Visit students of Gouthami High School, Achampet visited Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Palem on 08.01.2026 with the objective of providing agricultural knowledge to students. The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern farming practices, crop production, and agricultural research activities in RARS, Palem & Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University. The programme started with university song. Later Dr. V. Divya Rani briefed about the activities of RARS, Palem and its contributions to farming society. Later we have shown PJTAU important videos like Dimond jubilee, PJTAU vison 2027 and utilisation of AI in PJTAU agricultural research to the students to get overall idea about the activities undertaken by the PJT Agricultural University. Later Students were guided through various crop schemes of the research station. During visit Dr. A. Sriram, Scientist (Pl. Breeding) has shown various millet crops to the students and explained about the importance of millets. Later he has explained about the jowar crop and also demonstrated the crossing techniques to the students. Dr. Kada Siddappa explained about maize crop and shown various farm implements and explained about the importance of farm implements in agriculture. Later students visited seed processing and millet processing units. The scientists of RARS, Palem interacted with students and clarified their doubts in a simple and engaging manner. Students showed keen interest and actively participated in discussions. A total of 120 students from Classes 7, 8, and 9, along with seven teachers including the school principal, Mr. Vijay Kumar, attended the exposure visit.
