Exposure Visit of 3rd B.Sc. (Honours) Agriculture Students to Integrated Farming System (IFS) Unit at KVK, Bhadradri Kothagudem on 09.02.2026

As part of the Sustainable Agriculture course, 3rd B.Sc. (Agriculture) students of the Agricultural College, Aswaraopet visited the Integrated Farming System (IFS) unit maintained by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhadradri Kothagudem on 09.02.2026. During the programme, Dr. T. Bharath, Programme Coordinator, delivered a lecture on the importance of the Integrated Farming System for sustainable and year-round income generation. He explained the role and interlinkage of various IFS components and highlighted how diversification helps in reducing risk and improving farm profitability. The students were later oriented on different IFS units, viz., Poultry, Dairy, Goatary, and Fisheries. Subsequently, the students visited a commercial dairy unit maintained by Sri Mallesh Yadav at Penuballi Village, Chunchupally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District where 70 buffaloes are being reared and gained practical exposure to scientific dairy management practices. The programme was attended by Dr. R. Srinivas Rao, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), Scientist Dr. N. Hema Sarat Chandra, Sri Shiva and 50 students, who actively participated in the field visit and interactions.
