ELECTRONIC WING

 Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University, pioneer in the “Service of the Farmers” strives to deliver the latest technologies developed to the farming community through different means of communication. Realizing the importance of the electronic media to reach a large audience in the most productive manner in the quickest possible time with maximum accuracy, PJTAU carved out the Electronic Wing, during November, 2001 in the building of ATIC situated in the ARI campus, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad for the benefit of the farming community. The electronic wing has been immensely useful in the production of Video modules for PJTAU YouTube channel, Digital Video Discs, Chenukaburlu, Student Radio Programme, e-Posters for Face book, X and Instagram and Innovative digital platform Rythu Nestham Live Video Conference Programme i.e. Rythu Nestham

EW Building

The mandate:

  • To establish appropriate linkages with the Research and Extension system of the University for production of YouTube videos, Television and Radio Programmes
  • To act as a liaison between the University, Doordarshan, All India Radio and State Department of Agriculture in production of Television and Radio Programmes
  • Developing innovative ICT modules for effective Transfer of Technology i.e. Rythu Nestham.
  • Organizing Training Programmes on ICT to University Scientists and Department of Agriculture
  • To provide training and technical support to the Kisan Call Centres Farm Tele Adivisories.
  • Popularization of PJTAU technologies through electronic media (YouTube/Facebook/ X, Instragram and Whatsapp groups).
  • Sending of alert messages on Agriculture to TV channels and All India Radio.
  • Identifying the topics and the resource scientists for phone-in-live programme in Doordarshan (Rythu Nestam) and T-SAT.
  • Need based Technical and visual support to public and private TV channels.
  • Need based Production of DVDs on different crops and technologies.
  • Documentation of Success stories and Farmer innovations.
  • Identifying topics and resource persons to Rythu Nestham Live Video Conference programme conducted on every Tuesday from 10 – 11 AM involving experts of Agriculture and allied subjects.
  • Periodical postings in PJTAU YouTube Channel on technologies, University activities, pest, disease and weather Agro advisories and Farmer success stories.
  • Supporting All India Radio agriculture programmes.
  • Production of Chenu Kaburlu student radio programme involving students and broad cast through All India Radio, Hyderabad.
  • University events coverage and broadcast through YouTube channel periodically.
  • Any other activities specified by the university from time to time.
