District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) Meeting – Report TRVK, Mahabubnagar | Date: 07-01-2026

Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra (TRVK), Mahabubnagar conducted the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting on 07 January 2026 at the premises of TRVK, Mahabubnagar. The meeting commenced with the formal invitation of dignitaries onto the dais, followed by the welcome address by Dr. P. Archana, Coordinator, TRVK, Mahabubnagar. In her opening remarks, Dr. P. Archana highlighted the relocation of the DAATTC from RARS, Palem to Mahabubnagar district and expressed her sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, PJTAU for extending support in strengthening extension activities at the district level. Dr. L. Krishna, Associate Director of Research (ADR), RARS, Palem, addressed the gathering and emphasized that the scientific community should render their services more effectively to address farmers’ needs. He stressed the importance of formulating a well-structured and need-based action plan for the ensuing season. He advised that all presentations should focus on:

  • Current challenges faced by farmers
  • Pest and disease incidences in major crops
  • Alarming field situations in working locations
  • Scientific presentation of work supported with reliable data

He further emphasized refining technical programmes based on previous year results, developing need-based action plans, and ensuring effective solutions to farmers’ problems.
Dr. P. Archana and Dr. K. Kalyani presented the Work Done Report for the year 2025–26 of TRVK, Mahabubnagar.
Dr. M. Sreenivasulu, Coordinator, Electronic Wing, PJTAU and DE Nominee, highlighted the revolutionary changes occurring in agriculture, stressing that both scientific and farming communities must be aware of:

  • Agricultural produce exports
  • Role of digitalization and digital public platforms
  • Carbon sequestration and climate-resilient technologies
  • Natural farming
  • Automation, robotics, and drone technologies in agriculture

Sri Rampal, Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA), Mahabubnagar, briefed the district agricultural scenario and discussed the gaps observed during the previous year. He emphasized:

  • The need for crop diversification
  • Curtailing excessive fertilizer usage, especially in Paddy, Maize, and Chilli
  • Encouraging balanced and judicious fertilizer use

He appreciated the University for implementing Quality Seed Village Programmes and stressed the need for greater awareness on PSB usage in Redgram and Rice.
Smt. Swapna, Horticulture Officer (HO) suggested organizing technical guidance and training programmes on

  • Rhinoceros beetle management
  • Fruit fly management in orchards
  • Black thrips management in cucurbits and vegetables
  • Wild boar management in oil palm

A total of 45 progressive farmers actively participated in the meeting, contributing to meaningful discussions.
