DAATTC & ARS, Tornala conducted diagnostic field visits in paddy and cotton of Tadkapally village, Siddipet Urban (M) along with Agriculture department officials Smt. Swarupa Rani, DAO, Siddipet, MAO- Sri. Srinath, AEO- Smt. Vineela in H. Kanakiah (Paddy) and H. Illiah (Cotton) farmer fields. Paddy crop was 20 DAT and observed sulphide injury. Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Scientist & Head, ARS, Tornala and Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP), DAATTC, Tornala have explained in detail the symptoms of damage of sulphide injury and the management practices like drain out excess water till hairline cracks, which ensures the adequate aeration. Suggested to spray carbendazim + Mancozeb @ 150 gms /acre and 19:19:19 @ 500 gms/acre. Always prefer to add organic matter and grow green manuring where ever feasible. Later, visited Cotton field at square initiation stage and suggested fertilizer and weed management in cotton. In this visit, 20 farmers were participated.
