Collaborative Online Capacity Building Programme for KCC – Farm Tele Advisor - Dec 15th to 20th-2025

Electronic Wing, PJTAU and KCC, Hyderabad has jointly organized online training programme for Farm Tele Advisors of South India on “Capacity Building of FTAs” from 15th – 20th December, 2025. Chief guest of the Inaugural session Dr. M.Yakadri Director of Extension, PJTAU, Hyderabad in his introductory remarks stated that Farm Tele Advisors who act as the Frontline Extension workers can perform the role of Farmers Friends, through effective transfer of technology and it is of prime importance to update their knowledge on various burning farm issues and agricultural technologies, for effectively addressing the farmers queries. Dr. M. Balram, Director of Research, PJTAU attended the valedictory as chief guest, in his remarks stated that FTAs act as frontline warriors rescuing the farmers out of technical problems faced during the cultivation of crops by supporting them in right decision making. Various topics that were covered during the sessions were weed management in crops and cropping systems, advances in disease management technique, integrated pest management, market intelligence and price forecasting, seed production techniques and advances in micro irrigation. The Course organizing team constituted Dr. M. Sreenivasulu Course Director and Coordinator, Dr.J.S. Sudha Rani, Sr. Scientist (Agronomy) Course Director, Electronic Wing and Sri.Sanath Raj. Co-Course Director & KCC, Manager Hyderabad, Smt. Menak Sivam Co-Course Director KCC, Manager Coimbatore and Smt. Kusuma Co-Course Director KCC, Manager Bangalore, two batches of FTAs about 70 (35 participants in each batch from KCC) across South India attended the online training programme.
