C-NARE - AICRP on Agroforestry - Celebrations of World Environment Day on 05-06-25

A plantation programme on the eve of “World Environment Day” was organized on 05.06.2025 at AICRP on Agroforestry, C-NARE, PJTAU in association with CARRIER Technologies and NIRMAAN Organization, Hyderabad. Prof. Aldas Janaiah, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. M. Balram, Director of Research, Dr. G. E. Ch. Vidya Sagar, Registrar and all University Officers of PJTAU, Ms. Samarpita, HR Leader, Mr. Nishant, CSR lead from CARRIER, Mrs. P. Anuradha, Chief Operating officer, Mr. B. Tirupathi and Mr. G. Shant Kumar, Senior Programme Managers from NIRMAAN NGO and Dr. K. P. Vani, Director, C-NARE, Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head and Dr. T. Chaitanya, Scientist (Soil Science), AICRP on Agroforestry, teaching and non-teaching staff of C-NARE, 150 employees from CARRIER and 40 students from College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar have participated in this programme. Dr. M. Balram, Director of Research, PJTAU has welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. Mr. Nishant expressed happiness about engaging volunteers in plantation programme on this auspicious day. Mrs. P. Anuradha emphasized on CSR funding contribution to the plantation programme. Dr. K.P. Vani spoke on the ongoing activities of PJTAU, millets promotion, importance of organic products and today’s plantation programme. Dr. A. V. Ramanjaneyulu has explained in brief about significance of world environment day and list of tree species planted. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor enlightened all participants about importance of tree plantation for saving nature for future generations besides ongoing research, teaching and extension activities in PJTAU. He also thanked NIRMAAN and CARRIER for providing financial support for 1st phase development of new agri-biodiversity park and today’s plantation programme. On this auspicious occasion, 200 saplings viz., Azadirachta indica, Ficus religiosa, Ficus benghalensis, Neelamarckia Kadamba, Butea monsperma, Sapinud mukurossi, Pongamia pinnata, Bixa orellina, Casuarina equisetifolia, Grevellia robusta, Sweitenia mahogany and Bombax ceiba were planted in new Agri-biodiversity park.
