91st Birth Anniversary of Prof. Kothapalli Jayashankar celebrated at CFST, Rudrur on 06.08.2025

The 91st birth anniversary of Prof. Kothapalli Jayashankar was solemnly celebrated at the College of Food Science and Technology (CFST), Rudrur, on 6th August, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teaching, non-teaching (including contract and outsourcing) staff, and students. The programme began with floral tributes to Prof. Jayashankar, where all attendees paid their respects by garlanding his portrait and offering coconut as a mark of reverence. This was followed by speeches by staff and students, who reflected on the life, values, and contributions of Prof. Jayashankar. Speakers highlighted his pivotal role in the Telangana movement, recalling his dedicated efforts, educational background, and leadership positions held throughout his life. His unwavering commitment to the cause of a separate Telangana state and his vision for equitable development were underscored. The positive transformations post the formation of Telangana, particularly in terms of employment opportunities for locals and improvements in higher education, were highlighted. Faculty members encouraged students to imbibe the values of responsibility, commitment, and strategic planning for the holistic development of the institution. Dr. P. Srilatha, Associate Dean (I/c) addressed the gathering, elaborating on the significance of Prof. Jayashankar’s legacy, and commended the students for their active participation and inspiring speeches. She urged them to remain focused and work diligently towards achieving their goals. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. P. Shiva Kumar, (Asst. Professor & OISA), CFST, Rudrur, who expressed gratitude to all speakers and participants for making the event success.
