An Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was conducted at BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla on 15.11.2025 with the objective of sensitizing students about the ill effects of ragging and ensuring a safe, respectful, and disciplined campus environment. The programme commenced with a brief introduction by Sri L. Raja, Assistant Professor and OISA who outlined and presented the the purpose of the event and highlighted the what is ragging and its consequences among students. Dr. K. B. Sunitha Devi, Associate Dean, addressed the gathering and explained what constitutes ragging, the legal punishments, and the measures taken by the college to curb the menace of ragging on the campus. She stressed the importance of maintaining discipline and assured that the college strictly follows all guidelines issued by the Anti-Ragging Committee and UGC regulations. The resource persons for the programme were Mr. Mogili, Circle Inspector, Sircilla and Mr. Upender Chary, Sub-Inspector, Thangallapalli. Circle Inspector Mr. Mogili delivered an informative talk on what ragging is and elaborated on the legal consequences, including FIRs, criminal charges, suspension, and imprisonment. He encouraged students to uphold dignity, respect peers, and immediately report any ragging incidents. Sub-Inspector Mr. Upender Chary spoke about the various forms of cybercrimes affecting youth today. He discussed issues such as cyberbullying, online harassment, identity theft, and misuse of social media, advising students to be cautious and responsible digital citizens.All the students and faculty has taken the Anti Ragging Pledge . The Associate Dean Faculty members and students facilitated resource persons for their valuable guidance and urged students to contribute to a ragging-free and cyber-safe academic environment.
