Agricultural Education Day Celebrations at Agricultural College, Palem on 03.12.2025

Agricultural Education Day was celebrated at Agricultural College, Palem on 3rd December 2025 with the objective of creating awareness among students about the significance of agricultural education and the wide career opportunities in the agricultural sector. On this occasion, a total of 250 students from ZPHS High School, Palem and Little Roses School, Palem, along with Agricultural Polytechnic students, visited the college campus accompanied by their faculty members. The programme was organized by the NSS Programme Officers, Smt. V. Sriramya and Smt. N. Navatha, who coordinated and ensured the smooth conduct of all the events. The programme began with an inaugural address by the Associate Dean, Dr. B. Pushpavathi, who welcomed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of agriculture in ensuring food security and national development. She encouraged the students to explore scientific knowledge and to consider agriculture as a rewarding career option. Following the inaugural session, the students were taken on a guided tour of various laboratories in the college. They observed scientific equipment, practical demonstrations, and instructional models related to crop science, soil science, plant protection, and agricultural engineering. Faculty members interacted with the students and explained modern agricultural technologies and innovative practices being adopted to enhance farm productivity and sustainability. The school and Polytechnic faculty members, along with the students, shared their views on the visit, stating that the exposure to the research facilities, laboratory demonstrations, and learning environment at AGC Palem was highly beneficial and motivating. They appreciated the opportunity provided by the college to gain practical knowledge in agriculture. The celebrations concluded with a formal vote of thanks, marking the successful organization of Agricultural Education Day at Agricultural College, Palem, and inspiring young students to develop interest in agricultural science, research, and innovation.
