Agricultural College Warangal has celebrated “Agricultural Education Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary of first President of Independent India and Union Minister of Agriculture, Bharat Ratna, Dr. B. Rajendra Prasad. The novel programme initiated across the country, with the objective of exposing the school going students to various facets of agriculture and its relevance to country's development, inspire and attract them towards agriculture, so that they develop interest in agriculture and allied subjects, choose professional career after schooling in some of these courses, engage themselves in agriculture and related activities. On the occasion, the students from nearby schools were invited and created awareness on various facets of agriculture, a field visit was organised on the vermicompost unit, crop cafeteria and all the labs existing in the college were allowed for the students to have a glance. On the occasion, various competitions were conducted to the students and prizes were announced. The programme was coordinated by the final year –AELP batch students under the guidance of the faculty. About 396 students and 16 school staff members from different schools have participated in the programme. Various competitions like Essay writing, Quiz, etc. were conducted to the students and prizes were distributed to the school students.
