Agricultural Education Day celebrations on 03.12.2025 BJR Agricultural College

Agricultural Education Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla on 3rd December 2025 to create awareness among students about the significance of agriculture, modern farming advancements, and career opportunities in agricultural sciences. A total of 450 students and 16 faculty from three schools ZPHS, Jillela, ZPHS, Nerella, ZPHS, Mandepally and Telangana Residential School and junior college (Girls) enthusiastically participated in the programme.The programme began with a warm welcome to the guests on stage followed by traditional Lighting of the Lamp ceremony after all the faculty and students respectfully stood for the University Song. The Associate Dean, Dr. K. B. Sunitha Devi delivered the keynote speech on Agricultural Education Day was celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India and a distinguished national leader who also served as the Union Minister of Food and Agriculture in the Interim Government. She highlighted his contributions to nation-building and highlighted the importance of agricultural education in ensuring national food security and sustainable development. She emphasized how artificial intelligence play’s significance role in modern high-tech agriculture.The Associate Dean encouraged the visiting school and college students to view agriculture as a promising field that combines science, technology, and service to society.The Officer In-charge Student Affairs (OISA), Mr. L. Raja delivered an informative and motivational session on Entry and Career Opportunities in B. Sc Agriculture. The session aimed to guide school and junior college students about the academic pathways and professional prospects available in the agricultural sector.The OISA elaborated on the wide range of career opportunities available after completing B. Sc Agriculture. He outlined major government, Banking sector and private jobs after completing the B. Sc ( Agriculture). Dr. G. Priyadarshini , NSS programme Officer briefed them about various student activities, clubs, and extension programmes conducted by the college. The Headmasters of various schools appreciated the BJR Agricultural College in inviting school and junior college students and providing them with practical exposure to modern agricultural practices. After the formal speeches, the visiting students were taken for a department-wise exposure visit, where they observed:
• Crop demonstration plots
• AELP Units
• Soil science laboratory
• Plant protection lab
• Farm machinery displays
• Sericulture unit
• Mashroom production unit.
