Inauguration of the First Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendra (TRVK) at Pargi, Vikarabad District on 21-01-2026

The first Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendra (TRVK) in the state was formally inaugurated on 21st January 2026 at Pargi, Vikarabad District by the Prof. Aldas Janaiah, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), in the august presence of the Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Pargi Constituency, Dr. Tammannagari Ram Mohan Reddy. Dr. T. Rajeshwar Reddy, Coordinator, TRVK, Vikarabad, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, farmers, officials from allied departments, and representatives of print and electronic media to the inaugural programme. Presiding over the function, Dr. Tammannagari Ram Mohan Reddy, Hon’ble MLA, stated that TRVKs will serve as vital hubs for farmer–scientist interaction, facilitating the transfer of advanced agricultural technologies from laboratories to farmers’ fields. He expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PJTAU for allotting the TRVK to Pargi constituency in Vikarabad district. He further announced his consent to allot 40–50 acres of land at Rangampally village, Pargi mandal, for the permanent establishment of the centre and assured Rs. 25 lakhs from MLA grants for the preliminary establishment of the TRVK. He emphasized the need to strengthen Research and Development activities and advised the university to focus on regular farmer training programmes and promotion of best agricultural practices at the village level. Dr. M. Yakadri, Director of Extension, PJTAU, highlighted the extension activities conducted by university through the Extension wings of the PTAU. Further, he envisaged the importance of technology dissemination by TRVKs, which will help enhance farmers' knowledge of modern technological advancements through Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) and On-Farm Trials (OFTs) undertaken by TRVK scientists. He elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of TRVK and urged farmers to adopt modern agricultural practices by effectively utilizing TRVK as a knowledge hub in agriculture. He also spoke about the ongoing activities and future plans of the centre. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Member, Board of Management, PJTAU, stated that the establishment of TRVKs in every district as a timely and appropriate decision taken by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, which will be highly beneficial to the farming community. The Chief Guest of the function, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Aldas Janaiah, PJTAU in his address, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between agricultural research scientists and farmers to address complex farming challenges. He highlighted several key initiatives taken during his tenure, including admission of 200 students under the Agricultural-labourers quota, a first of its kind in the entire Nation, establishment of the Centre for Digital Agriculture and Centre for Natural Resource Management, launch of the “Rythu Mungitlo Shastravethalu” programme, promotion of “Quality Seed at Every Village”, and establishment of three new agricultural colleges in the state. He further stated that Telangana is progressing rapidly under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sri. A. Revanth Reddy, and that PJTAU is committed to establishing TRVKs in every district to ensure effective transfer of technology, including improved crop varieties, efficient water and fertilizer management, pest and disease control, and modern farm mechanization. He also stressed the role of TRVKs in empowering farmers through training programmes, field days, and diagnostic visits. Sri B. Raja Madhushekar, Scientist, TRVK, proposed the vote of thanks, followed by lunch. The programme was attended by Dr. L. Krishna, Associate Director of Research, Southern Telangana Zone; Dr. T. Rajeshwar Reddy, Coordinator, TRVK; Dr. Raja Madhushekar, Scientist (TOT); Dr. C. Sudha Rani, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS, Tandur; Dr. K. Parimala, Principal Scientist, ARS, Tandur; Sri Raja Rathnam, District Agriculture Officer; Sri Sathar, District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer; Dr. Sadanandam, District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Officer; Dr. Ankam Raj, Assistant Director, AVH, Pargi, Sri. B. Parshuram Reddy, AMC Chairman, Pargi, Sri K. Srinivas Reddy, ATMA Chairman, Pargi; and several other dignitaries. Officials from allied and other departments also participated in the programme. Around 450 farmers from different villages of the district actively participated in the inaugural event.
